What is a Real Estate Agent?
Click here for information on our online education
Real Estate agents wear many hats. They develop skills in prospecting, pricing, merchandising, marketing, negotiating, finance and human relations. Real Estate agents are also Independent Contractors with the freedom to be their own boss, unlimited income potential, and the ability to be in charge of their own destiny. Thus, good agents possess drive, ambition, and excellent organizational skills.
As in any career, interpersonal skills are essential in Real Estate. As a Real Estate associate, your ability to relate with people and to form professional relationships is one of the most important attributes you can possess. The bottom line is selling Real Estate is about people helping people.
To become a licensed Real Estate agent in Utah, candidates must complete an approved 90-hour pre-licensing course, pass a state exam, and pass a background check. For more information please see our licensing education course requirements page.
