NEW CE REQUIREMENTS effective January 1, 2010: licensees renewing their agent or broker license must have completed 18 hours of CE within their previous two-year licensing renewal cycle, of which at least 9 of those hours must be designated as CORE.

These class requirements can be done in live classes, online, or in any combination.  YES, you can do all CE hours online if you choose.  CE classes, whether live or online, are approximately $10 per credit hour at Utah Real Estate School, TLG, with special package pricing.  Enroll from our website; payment can also be made the day of class with a credit card or check.  If you enroll in the online classes, your user name and password will be emailed to you promptly following your enrollment.

If you’d prefer live classes, view our live class schedules on this website by clicking on “Licensing Courses,” then select “Live Class Schedule” down the left side of the screen, then select and open the month for which you wish to view the schedule. Elective and CORE CE classes are denoted in bold type on our schedules and indicate either CORE CE for CORE classes or CE for elective classes.  PLEASE NOTE: not all live classes qualify as CE.  You must attend a class indicated as a CE class on our schedule in order to receive CE credit.

Effective January 1, 2011, all real estate licensees MUST renew their licenses online – no mail in or counter renewals are allowed. This means all CE should be done by the 15th of the month in the renewal month (an administrative rule) in order to allow the CE provider time to bank the course and then have it appear on the licensee’s Division transcript, a process that can take up to 15 days.   At Utah Real Estate School, TLG, we’ll do all we can to expedite the banking of your course.  If you are past the 15th of your renewal month, we may still be able to accommodate you; call our Director, Tammy Lund, at 801-259-2613 for details.

Legal Issues ONLINE – $30

This 3-hour CORE CE course reviews real estate laws with a focus on the legal rather than regulatory consequences of non-compliance. 18-hour License Renewal CE Package – $150

This package consists of 18 total hours of online CE, of which more than 9 of those hours are designated as CORE – this gives you all the required CE to renew your license at a savings of $30 over ala carte pricing.  The course includes 9 two-hour modules on topics such as RESPA/HUD-1, Utah Licensing Law, the REPC, Forms, and the New Construction REPC.

These  online courses allow you to spend whatever time you have, then return to the course later – you do not have to complete the entire course in one sitting.  That’s the convenience of online – spend 2o minutes here and 30 minutes there, any time of the day or night.  However, watch your clock - course providers cannot give credit for more than eight hours per day, so this 18-hour package will take a minimum of three days, although you can complete the course over a longer period of time; whatever works best for your schedule.   Another feature of our courses as opposed to other online providers is the ability to move forward and backward within the units of the course as you desire – you’re not locked into a specific amount of time on each slide before you can advance, as long as you spend the required minimum amount of time in the class.

When you enroll in this package between the hours of 7 am and 10 pm, you will receive two emails within the hour, the first will be a receipt to save for tax purposes and the second email will give you instructions along with your user name and password.  Those enrolling after 10 pm may have to wait until early morning for their user name and password, although our staff sometimes responds after hours.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you originally licensed after July 1, 2007 and have not taken the 12-hour New Agent Course, this package does not include that required course, please select the 12-hour New Agent Course and the six-hour renewal package to acquire your required CE.  If you licensed after July 2007 and have previously renewed your license in active status, you have taken the 12-hour New Agent Course and therefore this renewal package will serve your needs. If you licensed before July 2007, you are not required to take the 12-hour New Agent Course and this 18-hour Renewal Package meets all course requirements for you to renew your license.
